White House now says Iran had a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program

White House is out with the latest statement on Iran’s nuclear program, with a subtle revision in the wording, Reuters reports.

The statement now reads: “Iran had a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program that it has tried and failed to hide from the world and from its own people. The Iranian regime has shown it will use destructive weapons against its neighbors and others. Iran must never have nuclear weapons.”

The previous statement read: “Iran has a robust, clandestine nuclear weapons program that it has tried and failed to hide from the world and from its own people. The Iranian regime has shown it will use destructive weapons against its neighbors and others. Iran must never have nuclear weapons.”

It’s worth noting that the keyword revised is ‘has’ to ‘had’ now.
