US: Initial jobless claims fall to 330,000
FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - Initial jobless claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits fell by 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 330,000 in the week ended Jan 4, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
This reading came in below expectations of 335,000 and also below the 345,000 registered the previous week.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, rose by 50,000 to a seasonally adjusted 2,865,000 in the week ended December 28 vs. 2,815,000 in the previous week (revised).
