Wall Street closes mixed; Dow closes above 18,000
FXStreet (San Francisco) - The Dow Jones closed above the 18,000 for the first time ever as the index took six months after breaking above 17,000 to reach this milestone. Investors welcomed the impressive upward revision to 5.0% from 3.9% of the US GDP in the Q3.
US stocks market closed Tuesday with mixed results as the Dow and the S&P extended its gains for fifth and both closed at record highs; while the Nasdaq posted declines.
Most sectors closed higher on the day; however the Health Care shares dropped hard amid biotech declines. The top winner was the Energy sector, followed by Consumer staples and Industrials.
